Berlin International Educational Concept
The learning environment created at Berlin International is student-centered and practical. Our educational concept focuses on project-based learning; students support their professional and personal development through both individual and group work, developing teamwork skills. All undergraduate programs at Berlin International are conducted in English. The combination of our diverse student body and academic staff with our global network allows us to provide a truly international academic experience.
Program Curriculum
In a practice-oriented and supportive learning atmosphere, a team of international academics and professors encourages students to explore their individual talents and create their own professional paths.
The first year of the architecture program provides students with a broad foundation in fundamental design skills, structural and construction fundamentals, visualization skills, and historical frameworks. In the second year, students deepen their knowledge of structure and materials, work on architectural design projects, and evaluate the discipline of architecture from a theoretical perspective. They also have the opportunity to integrate the knowledge they have gained into the context of urban design and planning.
In the third year, students collaborate with peers from other programs in an interdisciplinary design project, developing a special design solution for a real client. In addition, they develop their research skills, learn about building law and physics, and specialize in their fields by taking various elective courses.
The final year focuses on preparing students for their transition to professional life. In the final term, students apply and deepen the skills they have acquired by completing a bachelor's thesis and a bachelor's design project on a topic of their choice.
